In this lab, students will implement vibration, distance, and light intensity measurements using three different sensors. Additionally, they will implement their own measurement system to solve a measurement problem using the sensors and tools they’ve learned about.
After completing this lab, students will be able to:
Use a piezo film vibration sensor to measure vibration
Use a Hall Effect sensor to measure a magnetic field
Use a phototransistor to measure light intensity
Analyze vibration data in the frequency domain and design a filter to pass the desired frequencies
Curve fit and calibrate hall effect and phototransistor data based on a measured distance
Design and implment a measurement system to solve a measurement challenge around distance
