In this lab, students will take a deeper look at measuring voltage. First students will explore the impact of range and resolution on a voltage measurement. Next, students will learn how to account for signal frequency components when measuring signals. Lastly, students will look at the difference between scanning and simultaneous acquisition when measuring multiple voltage signals
After completing this lab, students will be able to:
Use the NI Automated Measurements Board and LabVIEW to understand and experience the impact of range on signal measurement
Use the NI Automated Measurements Board and LabVIEW to understand and experience the impact of resolution on signal measurement.
Get a high-level understanding of the frequency components of a signal.
Understand the sampling rate and use it in conjunction with the Nyquist theorem to acquire all the essential frequency components of a signal.
Understand scanning and simultaneous signal acquisition.
Use the NI Automated Measurements Board and LabVIEW to experiment with scanning and simultaneous acquisitions of multiple signals.
