This is an online, interactive course that contains instructions, multimedia, and assessments where students can learn at their own pace. As an instructor, you can create and edit instances of this course, assign them to students, and view student progress.
In this project, students will use methodologies outlined in the previous labs to design and implement their own force measurement system for a given measurement need. Students will determine the right sensor, signal conditioning circuit, ADC sampling, software approach, and analysis methods for the given measurement scenario. Once they complete the design, students will build and iterate on the measurement system and verify that the requirements were met.
After completing this project, students will be able to:
Explain signal and sensor characteristics for a given force measurement scenario.
Design and implement a signal conditioning circuit for a load cell measurement.
Discuss data acquisition resolution and sampling rate.
Implement a force measurement and analyze a measured force signal.
