Certified TestStand Architect (CTA)
The Certified TestStand Architect (CTA) is the final step in the two-part TestStand certification process. The exam verifies a user's expertise in architecting test systems based on TestStand from high-level specifications. Certified Architects provide technical leadership, helping ensure the developers on their team follow best practices and become more competent and efficient developers.
Review the Requirements
Step 1.
The Certified TestStand Architect (CTA) is the first level of TestStand certification. This certification is valid for 4 years and recertification is required to maintain credentials. Benefits include the use of the professional certification badge logo and related digital credentials.
NI recommends that you have 24 months of experience in developing medium- to large-scale test applications in TestStand.
Completing the Developing Test Programs Using TestStand and Architecting Test Systems Using TestStand courses may substitute for 6 months of TestStand experience.
Prerequisite: An active Certified TestStand Developer (CTD) certification Format: Multiple Choice Duration: 1 hour Location: Online

Once you have completed your exam preparation and have met all prerequisite requirements, you are ready to schedule your exam.
We highly recommend you review the Test Taker Guide before scheduling your exam to get familiar with the process.
Share your success
Step 4.
- When you complete the CTA exam, you will be advised if you passed or failed.
- If you passed, and after any flags have been reviewed by our certification team, you'll receive a notification email with your digital credential. This email may come within a few minutes of passing, but it can take 24 hours.
- If you have not received your notification email within 3 days of passing the assessment, email certification@ni.com.
- To share your badge, please follow these instructions:
- Log into your account at Credly
- Click on the profile icon at the top right-hand corner of the page and go to “Badge Management”
- Click on the badge you are looking to share
- Scroll down and click “Share”
- You will be brought to the “Share Badge” screen where you can find different tabs directing you to connect your social media accounts and share your badge

Certified professionals can recertify using one of two methods:
- Recertification exam
- Recertification by points.
